Geoff Hartwell: News

In the Studio working on a new record! - June 12, 2008

We just finished recording the basic tracks for the new Geoff Hartwell record. We were joined at Millbrook Sound Studios by the incredible Bari Sax player Dana Colley. (Dana came to prominence as the driving melodic force in the unique Boston band "Morphine" in the 90's. Check them out!) It was an incredible thrill to be able to collaborate with this unique and amazing musician. He'll be appearing on two or three songs on the new album. Other special guests will include Sonny Landreth, Cindy Cashdollar, and Richard Shindell. Check back soon for updates!

Well it's time to head back to Texas! I'll be teaching a slide guitar clinic at the Austin Guitar School (http://www.austinguitarschool.com 5501 N Lamar Blvd # A111 Austin, TX 78751 (512) 442-2880) on Sunday Jan 13th, and hopefully see my pal CIndy Cashdollar while I'm in town. Then off to visit my buddy Scott Smith in Houston!

BB KINGS NYC! - October 1, 2007

The Knitting Factory in September was great, and we're looking forward to the Parkside and the Bayou this month. And we're going to be playing with Sonny Landreth again, but this time on the main stage at BB King's in NYC!!! How cool is that? Come see us at BB Kings on November 1st!

Radio free New York! - March 18, 2007

Happy St. Patty's!
The live radio appearance on Vassar College Radio WVKR was a blast. It was a great interview, and a pleasure to do the show. I'll post it in the FREE MUSIC section once I figure out how to get it done :)
Also we had a KILLER time at the Parkside. Thanks to everyone for braving a blizzard and demanding to have a FUN time. Even Chris Nicolo, who got a $90 seatbelt ticket on his BIRTHDAY had a blast!

The Wild West - February 4, 2007

The Texas/California trip was so much fun! I got to see a bunch of great friends and have a great time, despite bizarre weather. I was shocked to learn that Texas SHUTS DOWN in the event of ice of any sort :) But the clinic at the Lone Star school was a success, and I'm looking forward to more on the way!

January On The Road - December 22, 2006

Howdy Folks!
Happy holidays to everyone! *Make sure to come to the JAN 5TH show at THE BAYOU in MT. VERNON!*

Just getting the details worked out for my upcoming trip. I'll be leaving New York to go to Austin Texas where I'll be teaching a slide guitar clinic at the Lone Star School of Music. While I'm in town, I'll be sitting in with my friend Ted Hall, a great Texas Blues guitarist, and do some playing with my friend Jimmy Way, a great drummer and producer. Hopefully I'll get to see Cindy Cashdollar as well! She's the best in the business on Dobro and Lapsteel.
Then I'll be going to Houston to see my friend the Teleblaster, Scott Smith. We'll play together at a place called "The Coyote".
Then it's off to the NAMM show in Anaheim CA. The NAMM show is a HUGE industry convention where Music manufacturers, distributors and artists like myself get together and have a grand old time.

Check back for updates!
